Now there will be lock-in in house, Mahabharata along with Ramayana will also be telecast

Coronavirus Lockdown: Now there will be door-to-door lockdown, Mahabharata along with Ramayana will also be broadcast

Those who grew up in the last years of the eighties will remember those mornings when there was silence on the roads without any curfew.  Due to the outbreak of the Corona virus Kovid 19, the silence still on the streets was something similar when the lovers of Ramayana and Mahabharata used to lock their homes.  The memories of the same era are going to be fresh once again.

With the aim of providing healthy entertainment to the people due to Corona virus lockdown, both these successful programs are being re-aired in Indian TV history.  Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced this.

Javadekar tweeted that two episodes of Mahabharata will be shown on DD Bharati channel on March 28 at 12 noon and 7 pm.  The Mahabharata was broadcast on Doordarshan from 1988 to 1990.  The show was produced and directed by veteran filmmaker BR Chopra.  The story of this mythological show was based on the power struggle between the Kauravas and the Pandavas in Hastinapur state.

Nitish Bhardwaj played Lord Krishna in the show, while Feroz Khan was in the role of Arjun.  The show brought Feroze so much popularity that he changed his name to Arjun in real life too.  Mukesh Khanna played the role of Bhishma Pitamah, who is still his special identity.  Apart from these, Gajendra Chauhan played the role of Yudhishthira and Praveen Kumar played the role of Bhima.  Rupa Ganguly was in the role of Draupadi.  The special thing is that Mahabharata gave popularity to most of these artists.

Earlier, Javadekar had tweeted on Friday morning that the Ramayana would be telecast on Doordarshan's national channel from Saturday, March 28, on public demand.  The first episode will be aired at 9 am and the second episode at 9 pm.  .  Let me tell you that in the last few days many people on social media had tweeted about that Ramayan is a good option to spend time in homes during lockdown.

After this tweet by Prakash Javadekar, many people expressed happiness and raised the demand for re-telecast of Mahabharata and Chanakya.  Ramayana was produced and directed by Hindi cinema veteran filmmaker Ramanand Sagar.  The Ramayana also holds the record for the most watched TV show in the world.
